Meet Dr. Dale Kates
The profession of orthodontics is extremely fulfilling to me. I describe it as a beautiful gift we have, and our goal is to share it with as many people as possible.
I believe an amazing smile should not only be available to the affluent or the rich, but to all who want to feel confident when they walk into a room, or interview for a job, or ask someone on a date. Our motto and true belief is “The road to self-confidence starts with a Premier Smile!”
I take so much joy and pride in helping people of all ages become the most confident version of themselves. When you can personally change how people feel about themselves and it’s for the better, there is no greater feeling I can imagine!
Education & Experience
Dr. Kates earned his undergraduate degree from Earlham College before completing his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at Howard University, where he also pursued his orthodontic residency.
In addition to serving as an adjunct professor at Case Western Dental School, Dr. Kates is committed to continuous learning in both dentistry and orthodontics. He stays current with evolving techniques and technology to ensure his patients receive the most advanced care and the best possible experience.

Outside of the Office
Dr. Kates and his wife, Gigi, have been married for over 25 years and have two children, Grant and Sydney. He enjoys traveling and spending quality time with his family. From Africa to Costa Rica to Venezuela, Dr. Kates values the opportunity to experience new cultures and reflect on what connects and differentiates us.
He speaks four languages and is always seeking his next adventure—whether through travel, learning, or service.
Deeply involved in the community, Dr. Kates participates in a variety of local programs and volunteer efforts. One of his greatest points of pride is a long-standing scholarship program that has provided college funding to local students for over a decade. He believes education is the great equalizer and sees scholarship support as a powerful way to uplift young people and invest in the future.
